Churr

Terms of Service

Last updated: 10 September 2026. Version 1.2.

1. Who you are agreeing with

Churr is operated by a sole proprietorship registered in Ontario, Canada. Contact: hello@churr.io.

These terms are a contract between you and Churr. If you do not agree with them, do not use the app.

2. You have to be 18

Churr is for adults. You must be 18 or over to have an account, and you confirm that when you sign up. The app exists to put two strangers in the same physical place, and that is not something we are willing to do with minors.

3. What Churr is

You are interviewed once by an AI. That interview builds a twin: an AI stand-in for you. While you sleep, your twin talks to other people's twins in your neighbourhood. In the morning you are shown up to three introductions, each with the whole conversation your twins had, and you decide whether to say hello.

Two things follow from that, and they matter:

4. Your account

One person, one account, tied to one phone number. Do not create an account for anyone else, do not let someone else use yours, and do not impersonate anyone. We can suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why unless doing so would put someone at risk.

5. What you may not do

The Community Guidelines are part of these terms and describe this in ordinary language.

6. Meeting people is the risky part

This is the paragraph to read twice.

Churr introduces you to strangers. We do not verify identity, background, criminal history or intentions. Phone verification proves someone controls a phone number. The 18+ check is a statement someone made about themselves. A liveness check, when it is running, proves a live human was in front of a camera — nothing else.

You meet at your own risk. You alone decide whether to meet anyone, where, and for how long. Churr is not a party to what happens at a meeting, has no control over the behaviour of anyone you meet, and does not supervise meetings.

Read the safety guidance in the app before a first meeting. In short: meet in the public place in the plan, tell someone where you are going, get yourself there and home, and leave whenever you want.

If someone behaves badly, block and report them from the chat, the introduction or the plan. Reporting someone blocks them from you straight away, both ways. If someone is in danger, call 911 first and tell us afterwards.

7. What you write

You keep ownership of everything you tell Churr. You give us permission to store it, to process it, and to use it to run the product — which specifically means: to build and operate your twin, to let your twin have conversations, to show those conversations to the person your twin spoke with, and to show what you marked shareable to the people you are introduced to.

We use your content to improve the product only if you switch that on in Settings. It is off unless you do.

You are responsible for what you write. Do not write things about other people that you do not have the right to share.

8. Reports, moderation and removal

Reporting someone acts immediately, before anybody has read it. The moment you send the report:

Then a person reads it. We read the worst first — someone under 18, a threat, sexual content — and we do not put a number of hours on it. We would rather tell you what already happened than promise you a deadline one person cannot keep.

We may read a chat, an introduction or a profile when someone reports it, or when an automated screen flags it. We may remove content, remove an introduction, limit an account while we look into a report, suspend an account or remove it permanently. Where we can, we will tell you what happened and why. If someone is in danger, call 911 first.

Free-text venue names are reviewed by a person before a plan using one becomes visible to anyone outside it.

9. Availability

Churr is a new product built by one person. It will have outages, bugs and days where the morning does not arrive. It is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not promise the introductions will be good, that anyone will reply, or that you will make a friend.

10. Limits on what we owe you

This clause has not been reviewed by counsel and Ontario law limits what it can do.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Churr is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for anything that happens between you and a person you meet through the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid Churr in the twelve months before the claim, or CAD $50.

Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot be excluded under Ontario or Canadian law, including under the *Consumer Protection Act, 2002*.

11. Money

Nothing in Churr costs you anything to use: the introductions, the plans, the chats and the morning are free and are not going behind a paywall.

There are two paid things in the product, both switched off as this is written, and both described here before they arrive rather than after:

If either of those is switched on for you, it will be visible in the app before it is charged for, and these terms will say so first.

12. Ending it

You can delete your account at any time, from Settings, in two taps. It purges immediately — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what goes.

We can end your access if you break these terms, if we have to for legal reasons, or if Churr shuts down. If Churr shuts down, we will give notice and a chance to export your data.

13. Changes

We will tell you about material changes in the app, and ask you to accept the new version before you carry on. Continuing to use Churr after that means you agree.

14. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes go to the courts of Ontario. If you are a consumer, this does not take away rights you have where you live.
