Community Guidelines

Churr exists so that people who moved here, or got busy, or lost the habit, can meet someone worth knowing. That only works if it stays a place adults want to be. These are the rules, in ordinary words.

The four that get you removed

1. Do not harass anyone. Not in a chat, not at a meeting, not afterwards. If someone stops replying, that is an answer. 2. Do not send sexual content. Churr is friends-first and not a dating app. Sexual content involving anyone under 18 is reported to the authorities, immediately and always. 3. Do not threaten or incite violence, and do not attack people for who they are — race, religion, disability, gender, sexuality, where they came from. 4. Do not lie about who you are. One person, one account, your own first name, your own life.

Meeting people

• Public places only. A park, a café, a rink, a market. Never a home, yours or theirs, the first time. The app enforces this: venues come from a curated list, and anything typed in is read by a person before that plan is visible to anyone.
• Show up or say you cannot. Someone rearranged an evening. A message costs nothing.
• You can leave whenever you want. You owe a stranger nothing beyond a polite goodbye.

Your twin

• Your twin speaks for you. Do not put things in it you would not say.
• Do not try to make other people's twins misbehave. Text written to manipulate a twin is screened and held back, and repeated attempts end the account.
• Your twin can be wrong about you. Fix it — Settings → What your twin shares — rather than living with it.

Not what Churr is for

Recruiting, selling, promoting a business, political campaigning, fundraising, or collecting people for something else. If you want to run an event, talk to us: hello@churr.io.

Reporting

Every intro, chat and plan has Report and Block on it.

• Block is immediate and symmetric: you disappear from each other's lists, you will never be introduced, and neither of you sees the other's plans.
• Report blocks them too, the same way, the moment you send it. You do not have to do both, and you do not have to wait for us. Tell us what happened — a sentence is enough.
• Reporting spam is the one that does not block. An advert is a complaint about content, not about a person you need away from you, so we hide it from you and leave your plan alone. Block them as well if you want to.

You never have to explain yourself to block someone, and blocking someone does not tell them. Neither does reporting them.

Then a person reads the report. The worst things get read first, and we do not promise you a number of hours — we would rather do something the moment you press the button than promise you a deadline one person cannot keep.

If you are in danger, call 911 first.

What we do about it

Depending on what happened: a warning, removing the content, removing an introduction, limiting an account while we look into it, suspending the account, or removing it permanently. Serious things — threats, sexual content involving minors, violence — skip straight to removal and, where the law requires it, to the police.

You are told what happened to you the moment you report: the app says whether the two of you are blocked, or what has been hidden. We do not send you a message later to say what a moderator decided, and we are not going to pretend we do.
